Therapy for Adults
The Speech and Language Practice offers speech and language therapy to adults experiencing difficulties with speech, language, voice or fluency.
Difficulties with speech and language may be as a consequence of stroke, head injury, surgery or neurological disease. Adults with learning disability may experience communication difficulties at different stages in their lives and may need additional communication support. Speech and Language Therapy can also be offered for adults experiencing disorders of voice and fluency.
Speech and Language Therapy will only be offered when it is considered that it can make a positive difference.
What People Say
I cannot recommend The Speech and Language Practice highly enough. Karyn Stewart-Dodd is not the first speech and language therapist to work with my son, who has complex needs. However, she is the first practitioner who has demonstrated such insightful and sensitive expert intervention and total commitment to doing her utmost for young people, especially those who struggle with social interaction and anxiety. Karyn is more than a therapist, she is a specialist, a patient and understanding counsellor, mediator and advocate who genuinely cares about her clients and their families. The smooth running of The Speech and Language Practice is underpinned by the unerring efficiency of Administrator, Lucy Procter. My son would not have made the significant progress he has without their specialist support.
